Very briefly defined, a Sommelier is an expert in cigar related matters such as: history, production, market and most importantly tasting.

Habanos Sommelier needs to have a deep knowledge about the various vitolas, their production process starting from the plantation to packaging, design pairings not only of cigars but also with beverages. Especially different types of rums are an essential part of the Cuban cigar world.

Habanos Room provides “Certificate Courses in Cuban Cigars” given by renowned Sommeliers. Our mission is to expand and share the valuable Cuban cigar culture to aficionados around the world. There are three level of certificates: “Aficionado”, “Senior” and “Master”. In order to participate in the “Master” category one must have passed prior levels.
